my first project job..

I am always trying new crafts and am all about learning to make things for my kids. Last year I decided to make my children's Halloween costumes. While it took my almost all of September to get them both finished for Halloween, the end product was worth it. This year I am enlisting the help of my mother to complete a knitted hat for my daughter for her costume. Check out her website here: Life on the Bright Side....of things.

A mommy friend of mine contacted me in regards to making her daughter a tutu for Halloween. Since I had made one last year for Madison's costume, I was super excited to do it. My first "pay" job!!! Yay I am so excited and will post photos of the whole project. Wish me luck!

Walgreens:
There is a super deal at Walgreens this week for the Zyrtec Children's Grape Flavor. They might be marked 3.19-3.29 and if you purchase 2 you get a $5.00 register reward. There are 2.00/1 insert coupons this week (8/23/09) so you make money on them after the register rewards!!

Food Lion:

Food lion has their 17.9 Alpo dog food on buy on get one sale this week at 10.00. There are 3.50/1 printable here: Purina Dog Food-Give a Bowl that makes two 17.9 bags of the food only 3.99 after the coupons. Great stock up price if you have doggies!!

Kikkoman Less sodium Soy sauce is on closeout for 1.39 and there are .55/1 peelies attached to the bottles making them .84 for the large bottles. We love soy sauce and the low sodium is all we use.

I don't normally shop food lion very often due to them not doubling coupons and their prices always seem a bit more high compared to other local stores. They have a few good items on sale this week so I went to check them out.

A little time

Life has a tendency to get in the way and certain things get pushed to the back burner to simmer for awhile. My blog was pushed to the back burner while my life got more busy. I also took a small break from heavy couponing and tried to just focus on a few deals here and there.

It is funny who a good few sales can jolt you back to reality and get your couponing blood boiling. The past few weeks have proven good for jolting and there seems to be no end in sight. The sales at stores are rocking and even better ones are in the future.

I am looking forward to getting back on track with posting and sharing a lot more deals as the holiday season approaches. I am an avid Black Friday shopper and start getting excited about the sneak peek ads that start coming in September...only a few short weeks away!

That being said I am posting this weeks deals and will work my way backwards til I have it all posted.

Apology

I am super sorry I have been MIA for awhile. My kids decided to love Mommy and share Strep Throat with me and I missed out on shopping for awhile. I just got back into the coupon grind this week and will post my stuff tomorrow. No pictures as I was still super tired and just wanted to get it unpacked and put away.

A New Site

I am super excited about a new site that is up and running finally. Michelle over at I Heart Publix just opened her new site called: I Heart Saving Money. Simple enough right??? So if you got a moment go over and check it out. She is doing lists for now for Kroger, Food Lion, Publix. She also is giving up the goods on CVS, Walgreens and Rite-Aid. I am super glad to promote this site as she is an extremely honest couponer and doesn't dabble in the gray areas!!!

I have not posted my weekly totals in a few weeks or even been around to blog much. My laptop(read my LIFELINE) went down and it has taken my awhile to fix it. I do have a desktop computer but it is not in a location that I am able to get to while the kiddos are up and doing kids. So I have been working very hard to get it back and yay I finally did!!! Yes I can repair computer but cannot do a simple blog layout. How geek am I???

Coupons Galore..

I have been finding awesome coupons and booklets the past couple of weeks. Last week was the illusive Unilever - Family is it's own reward booklets and this week it is the Smart Summertime Savings booklet. I also shopped through my local Publix and found a ton of tearpad coupons. Have you been finding any good coupons recently????

BTW: Go by and tell the Customer Service Dweeb at the Lake Murray Publix hello and that you are a couponer!! He told my friend last week that the reason the put thier booklets behind the counter is quote" Those coupon people are piranhas!!!" If she had had her coupon bunder she would have smacked him upside the head for that statement. I personally grab 10 of each booklet or tearpad I see. I send some to my mother and keep enough for my family...

I had a $30.00 gift card from the manager for an incident that happened last Friday so I bought a lot of stuff of needs this week. Made for a great shopping trip!!!

Brakes...Sushi....OH MY!!!

I never made it out to do my shopping today. I went by NTB on St. Andrews to get my brakes done and what was suppose to be a short stint turned into a nightmarish 3 hours. I only got the front brakes done today because I did not have 6 hours to wait. I had both my kids with me to boot. I did however have a lovely time at Thai Lotus for sushi. The ladies there were great and even gave us free desserts! I am a HUGE SUSHI FAN and this place is the best. If you ever get around the area and are hankering for Sushi, stop by Thai Lotus and pick up a few rolls!

OH, My son did get an awesome free Nascar car at NTB. It is a Nascar die cast and so I have to give a big high five to Steve (Service Manager) for being so awesome to my kids today!!!

I am out shopping today....later than usual

So my husband has gone back to work full time now (HVAC business was slow) so I will be shopping much later than I normally do. I will try to post my totals tonight and get photos this week.
